A sports club in the city of Newcastle has unveiled a new car park fitted with solar panels that power not only the sports club itself but provide 3 electric vehicle chargers too.
Newcastle EV owners can now charge their vehicles with 100% renewable energy!
The EV chargers installed are a 50kW fast charger, and two 22kW Level 2 chargers.
The site includes 44kW of solar cover over the car park, and more than 120kW of battery power.
That’s enough to power the average home for 9 days!Two more charging sites are planned for the city by 2020, and all three sites will offer free EV charging for the public during the introductory period.
